About me
Katie most recently covered the California Legislature for The Los Angeles Times. She previously reported on the Virginia statehouse and the congressional delegation from Hampton Roads for The Virginian-Pilot. She started in journalism working as a crime reporter for the BVI Beacon in the British Virgin Islands, where she covered trials at the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.

When she isn't working, she enjoys traveling. From camping in Kenya or meeting with refugees in Jordan to studying penguins in Antarctica, she loves to explore the world and hear people's stories.
​
She holds a degree in history and political science from James Madison University.
